We're dog lovers, just like you. And like many pet owners, we found ourselves constantly replacing dog beds — ones that didn't last, didn't wash well, or just looked plain sad in our home. The endless cycle felt wasteful and costly, and we always felt guilty throwing out a bed our dogs were still attached to.

So we decided to make something better ourselves. But the more we looked into it, the more we realized the problem wasn't just durability, it was what these beds were actually made from. Dogs spend an enormous amount of time on their beds, more than we'd ever really stopped to think about. And almost every bed on the market was filled with synthetic materials like foam and polyester fibre — petroleum-based products that can off-gas chemicals and may contain flame retardants linked to health concerns.

We lost our first family dog to cancer at a young age, and it made us think differently about the little choices we make for our pets. We wanted something more natural for our dogs Oscar and Moira that we could feel good about.

That search led us to wool. And once we found it, we couldn't understand why nobody else was using it in dog beds. The comfort, the durability, and natural properties were better than anything else we'd come across — so we designed a wool dog bed ourselves.
