Care Instructions

Wool has been caring for animals for thousands of years — it knows what it's doing. Your Wagging Tailor bed is designed to be naturally low maintenance, because the last thing you should have to worry about is laundry.

🐑

The Wool Base

One of wool's most remarkable qualities is that it's naturally self-cleaning. Thanks to the lanolin in every fibre, liquids bead and rinse through rather than soaking in — and wool naturally resists odours, bacteria and dust mites without any help from you.

For everyday freshness

Remove the outer cover and lay the wool base in the sunshine for an hour. UV light is nature's freshener — no detergent required.

For spot cleaning

Pour a small amount of water through the soiled area. Wool's natural lanolin does most of the work. For stubborn stains, gently work a small amount of wool-safe detergent into the area by hand, rinse through with water, and dry in sunlight.

To restore loft

Fluff the wool by hand periodically to keep it feeling full and supportive. If your dog has really made themselves at home over the years, our Wool Top-Up Pack (sold separately) will bring it back to life.

Please don't
  • Submerge the entire bed in water or put it in the washing machine — the wool will felt and become clumpy.
  • Put the wool base in the dryer.

The Outer Cover

The outer cover does the heavy lifting so the wool base doesn't have to. When life gets messy, simply remove it and toss it in the wash.

1

Remove the outer cover from the wool base.

2

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.

3

Re-shape while wet and line dry.

That's it. No special detergents, no delicate rituals. Just clean covers whenever you need them.

The leather badge

Our badge is made from leather and is sewn onto the cover. It's safe to machine wash with the cover — to keep it looking its best, apply a leather conditioner occasionally.

A well-cared for wool bed will last years longer than any synthetic alternative. The occasional sunshine, the odd spot clean, and a fluff when needed — that's all it takes to keep your dog sleeping well for the long haul.
